Beacon's Ray

long rifle - very rare - 2d12 damage - two-handed, reload 2, misfire 2  
A long, steel-barreled gunpowder rifle, scoped and well-maintained. Expertly made, and inscribed down each side of the body, reforged wtih a second barrel and a new name, "Do it for Beacon", and "Don't miss :)". A bolt-action clears the chamber, and inside a dragonshard heats any rounds placed inside up to red-heat before firing.   It is a long rifle, with 2d12 damage dice, a 200/800 ft. range, requiring two hands to use, and proficiency in firearms. After firing twice, an attack must be forfeited to reload the weapon. If a 2 or lower is rolled on a d20 to attack with the weapon, it misfires, and an attack or action must be forfeited to attempt a DC 10 Dexterity (Tinker's Tools) check to repair the fault before it can be fired again. Ammunition can be crafted with appropriate tools, at a cost of 2gp / round.   Beacon's Ray is a +1 magical weapon, its misfire rating has been reduced by 1 (to 2 or less), and ammunition fired from it is heated, dealing an additional 1d6 damage when it strikes a target.
