Chirurgeon's Gauntlet

Wondrous Item - rare - requires attunement
This leather and copper gauntlet covers the hand and forearm, covered in mechanical folding arms, injectors and scalpels, forceps and tweezers all ready to respond to your will and the motions of your fingers. A feeling comes over the wielder, analytical and cold - it is your duty to restore and cure, not to care and nurture.
While attuned to the gauntlet, when asked to make a Wisdom (Medicine) checks, you must instead make an Intelligence (Medicine) check.
As an action, you may touch a creature and make a DC 15 Intelligence (Medicine) check to diagnose, control the device and apply a treatment. If successful, the target may immediately spend a hit die, and regain additional hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier. If the die rolled for this check is a 1, the target instead suffers 2d10 piercing damage. Once a target has regained hit points from this ability, they cannot do so again until they complete a short rest.
