Floating Leaf Fortress Correspondence

“High Archon Kleos, first of Scora Bael, Beloved of the People and Bringer of Water,       We thank you for considering the Su’Lat League’s proposal. I drink to your health and the prosperity of your grand independent city, soon to be even greater. Your support of our plans during the Quori War has not been forgotten, and the sacrifices you and others made to support us will be repaid.   The current talk of rebellion and the violence we see from Elves concerns us all, but the League will not allow you to suffer in this time – just as we helped to replant the forests and restore the rivers after the Skybreaker was activated, the League will help you how we can.   My work with the drow, based out of the The Maw complex that you so graciously allow us to operate, was only the beginning. A new servant arises, one stronger and more loyal than any elf.   In the years since the war, we have captured several of these construct forges from the Quori. The one closest to your lands, which we are calling The Forge of Hours, could be the centre of a new era of development and peace. Adapting the artifice they were attempting to use to create construct hosts, we believe that soon the need for the elves will be a thing of the past, and with your support your city could be the first to benefit.   We only require your material support. Our supplies of platinum, adamantine, ruby, Siberys and Khyber dragonshards, cold iron and powdered diamond in particular have been diminished. Any of these which can be spared would speed our research. We also ask for access to Floating Leaf Fortress – as the closest location to the Forge of Hours, sending shipments there under the supervision of your great General Astrapa would be ideal.   Thank you kindly for your time and support.     Representing the Su’Lat League,   Lyndara-under-stone   Translated date: -8,130
Attached is further correspondence;     Strategos Astrapa, Most Loyal General,     While I strongly dislike the implications in their message, perhaps this work at the newly-captured “Forge of Hours” could be of value to us.   If I agree, could you spare ships, and troops to guard and escort material shipments to the Forge?   I do not support their motives, but progress in artifice and magic is a noble goal.   Perhaps we can turn it to something more beneficial to both Scora Bael, and the elven people it is our place to watch over?   I await your counsel.   Kleos.   Translated date: -8,130
Another slate dated much later,   “General Astrapa,       We have received word that the Forge of Hours is to be a future target of the rebellion. Under no circumstances can we allow the Forge to fall. You have the full support of Scora Bael and the Su’Lat League in this.   With the rebellion as destructive as it is, it’s becoming more clear that the elves are no longer suitable subjects of the Free Cities, or the Empire as a whole. I only thank that Kleos is no longer here to see it.   Divination implies the presence of Elronethi, Sikil and Vadalia – be wary, and do not underestimate the depths they will sink to if it hurts us.       The Archons of Scora Bael Translated date: -8,110 “
A final letter, dated later again,     General Astrapa,       The loss and sinking of the Forge of Hours is regretful, but you still have a role to play. We are seeing a mass exodus of the elves from Isla Scora – we believe that the ships they stole from the Forge are being used to transport their people to the mainland, and from there north for some reason. They seem to be evacuating the worst of their people, the rebels most deserving of destruction. You are to follow these ships, figure out why they are leaving and to where – surely they know nowhere on Eberron will hide them from the Skybreaker when we use it again? – and when they have moved all their traitors, you shall end them. In this you will redeem yourself.       The Archons of Scora Bael   translated date: 10 / 4 / -8,109   <~one month before the collapse of the Giants>
