“Deborah, darling – it’s been a solid week since we last heard from you, and we’re starting to make further plans about an expedition. The Arcane Congress here is very, very interested about this island of yours, can you tell me what’s going on? Please reply immediately, this could be a critical discovery for magic itself, and especially for the nation of Aundair.
The rumour mill is talking about devices, arcane engines? I know artifice has never been in your curriculum, but you always had a good grasp of theory - if you could explain as best as possible what’s been discovered there we could save ourselves so much time, and get your name on the research papers!
I’m sure there’s interesting applications of magical theory as well we could get you investigating too. This could finally get your career off the ground!

Prince Adal has been talking about leading it himself if it’s something big – he been very busy running the Arcane Congress, so he must think it’s something important! I hope the rumours are true – would be a good excuse for your mother and I to go with him, really get on the front-lines of this, and get to check up on you too.
