Lyndara's Diary

“Told him old Kleos over in Scora Bael wouldn’t like it. Not after what happened with the first Skybreaker test firing – Adaxus already ruined one island, he’s not going to let us try for two”   “We’ve compromised – Scora Bael won’t march their army against the League, and we keep anything experimental within our own facilities. Fine. The Sulat League is trying to save all their whole ungrateful city, you’d think they’d give us the land”   “Adaxus wants my tower. My Tower of Alchemy. Says defeating the Quori is going to take both of the plans, and there’s no room for the Sun and the out on his damn volcano as well. He might be my old master but it’ll be a cold day in Fernia before he invades my space.”   “I don’t care if my Tower’s on the opposite side of the island to Scora Bael. I don’t care if the city-state refuses to give us more land. He can build out in the damned ocean instead.”   “So we’re building the Sun at the Tower of Alchemy.”   “The construction never stops. “Your cave’s not big enough”, they say, “We need to go deeper”. I haven’t had a night’s sleep in months. His slaves keep taking my supplies. Adaxus had better make this right or I’m going to drink alchemist’s fire”   “So my entire month’s stock of bitterglass and residuum was commandeered today for the Sleeping Sun. I don’t care if it’s going to stop the Quori. I don’t care if he’s my master. They can leave me alone in peace”   "Actually, on that idea of drinking alchemist's fire - I think I got that to work. Lets revisit this."   “Installed the traps today. See how they like it now”   “One month to go. The Skybreaker’s almost ready too. Then I’ll be free of the Quori and free of Adaxus”   “We did it. It actually worked. Skybreaker and the Sleeping Sun. The Quori will never again step foot on this world. They’d better build a damned statue.”   “He’s not leaving. Adaxus and his people aren’t leaving. Demands my help cleaning up the damage Skybreaker left. He still thinks I’m nothing but an apprentice that’ll do whatever he says.”   “Reforestation is going well, but I miss my tower. I miss my privacy. One more trip out to Dal Anka, it’ll start regrowing the forest, and maybe I can rest”   “Fire and bones they’re building a statue. Of him. On top of my tower. Say it’ll take a year. I am going to kill somebody.”   “I did it. He’s gone. Forever. I figured out the deal he made, and now they’re calling in his debts. Nobody will ever see him again. Burn, burn for eternity, you arrogant, condescending, *devolves into inellegible cursing*”   “I think they’re onto me. Those people from Scora Bael – the way they’re talking you’d think Adaxus won us the war single-handedly. Maybe it’s time to leave for a while. A few words to the right people and they’ll think he disappeared out of his own free will”   “Time to go. I need to check the Quarry northwest of Dal Anka, then I think I’ll head south. Far south. The Maw outpost could use an inspection”
