Session 6 - The Lizgor Camp - Shivaren's Journal

"Yesterday we ventured out to the north to put an end to this Ligsor family of gnolls once and for all. We were accompanied by Vrind, who seemed more than happy to take the fight directly to them.   As we traveled over known paths in the North Savanna, I observed that perhaps Zellandria was not on the best of terms with Diiroehn. They had a particularly prickly conversation. Diiroehn seems to be a person who puts a great deal of value on a persons resourcefulness. I'm sure in time, after fighting together a few more times, they will come to a place of mutual respect.   We bedded down for the night and continued on our way the next morning. Mafaldine seemed to be intrigued by the camel snakes we saw grazing peacefully.   The next day we continued, following tracks we had found. Eventually, we came upon Lizgor's camp. They seemed to be making preparations for the evening and we decided a night-time ambush was the best course of action.   When things kicked off, we managed to deal with the gnolls in an expedient fashion, though I did get tangled in one of the gnolls tents. It was...embarrassing.   After the battle, 2 of the gnolls prisoners managed to escape their bonds during the commotion. Diiroehn and I made chase, shouting after them. I was desperate to talk to them. I thought perhaps they would be able to provide some insight into the missing townspeople, or information in general. Unfortunately, even tho we gained their trust for a moment, they were much to spooked to stay around for long, and with good reason. Just to our right, we could see the canyon that Zeniir's horde called home. We saw dozens of torch lights and figures moving below. We needed to move quickly before we were spotted.   The other prisoner we found was a mountain giant by the name of Maetica. Vorrock seemed to have met one of her family members on a previous expedition. Knowing we now needed to leave with haste, we looted what we could with the camp and marched the Lisgor family's cattle and lumber back to Beacon along with Maetica. She seemed to be not in a good state.   I hope that the 2 Vulkoori we saved will go some ways into earning the Vulkoori tribe's trust on this Island. Perhaps a few more good deed's their way would not be such a bad idea. For once I have come back from an expedition not in such a bad shape as the last few."
