clockwork exorcism

The process of removing sprites, spirits and other paranormal or magical entities which may have infested a piece of clockwork. Also called mechanical exorcism.

Components and tools

Spelled instruments such as tweezers, clamps, and prods are used to physically remove the unwanted entities. They can be captured in spelled vessels which range in size from small clamshells to larger caskets about the size of wine casks. Glass usually forms the outer shell of any vessel while silver, gold, titanium and other precious metals are favored to bind spells of capture and imprisonment to the vessel.

Clockwork mages with a specialty in removing magical entities from clockwork are known as clockwork exorcists and are never without work in The Federation of Merchants.
