The Notters

The Notters believe that there are no true gods above, and that all phenomena, including magic, are explained by reason, logic, and science. Further, they believe the church is established to specifically enrich themselves with wealth and power. All religious experiences and encounters/communications from gods are illusions imparted by the priesthood.
The Notters are not an organized group that readily opposes the churches of Azazel. Instead they choose to abstain from all religious activities. They look down on the "Godlies" for being so easily misled by the churches. They see Godlies as naive, uncritical yuppies who are happy to consign their free will to the churches.
They do maintain an intellectual community where they can collaborate on new ideas about why and how the gods aren't needed to explain all things. Notters that are Members of Academia are often highly involved this way.
