The Dragon Ring of Ascension

The Dragon Ring of Ascension is an ancient artefact of the rulers of Caledor.  It is a ring, shaped in the image of one of the dragons which used to exist in the mountains of Caldor on the island of Ulthuan and is gifted by the current king or queen to the person they have chosen to succeed them as the occupant of the Dragon Throne.
Today the ring is nothing more than a physical token that symbolises and confirms its owner to be the chosen heir of the kingdom.  However, the myth associated with the ring is that it gives the wearer the ability to command dragons and that in the past when dragons still existed in the mountains of Caledor its possession gave the rulers of the kingdom the ability to ride dragons into battle.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

There is a myth that the ring also grants the owner the ability to command dragons.  Unfortunately, there are no more dragons in Caledor to command.

Significance

Ownership of this ring confirms that the bearer is the nominated heir to the Dragon Throne of Caledor.
