Blessing of Fortified Psyche

Author: Tenebrae Wiskerville

Experiment Purpose:

"This blessing follows a simple train of thought: a mind capable of shrugging off much larger quantities of punishment. Whilst this ritual was something I used on myself after I located my original body in Fenris, I have wavered in allowing it to fall into the knowledge of those with the Book. However, my assurances and testing process was thorough and absolute so I am certain this will function for the living."

Effect

If done correctly, the user will enter a different mental-state for a short period of time, no longer than an hour. As described to me by the eighteen successful subjects, this state changes, but is often one of a loose relaxation, as if floating in nothingness. Some were kind enough to report that pulling out of this state was much harder than anticipated, considering it was a ritual induced dream. Should you survive and pull yourself out of this dream-state, you have completed the ritual.

Experiment Advantages:

  • - Grants a heightened recollection of memories and ability to absorb information.
  • - Serves as a tri-lair warding for the mind. (Effectively, it's three wards at once)
  • - Allows a much stronger understanding and control over one's mind. (Has been especially useful in negating voices people have claimed to hear)

Side/Secondary Effects

Experiment Drawbacks (if known):
  • Potential loss of memory, though it won't be anything so major. Just a few useless memories.
  • Head area will fall subject to excruciating turmoil for up to 14 days post-implementation.
  • Subjects have reported the hearing of voices in their head during the aforementioned turmoil period.
  • Subjects have also proven restless, some completely shrugging off sleep for days on end. Living test subjects should try and find a means of neutralising this.
  • Out of twenty-five subjects, one of them turned into a mindless mess, dying of severe mental trauma days later. Minor details.

-Warning: I am not responsible for any injuries or deaths that occur because of this ritual.
Material Components
  • Obsidian Rod (No bigger than a meter long)
  • Five Black-Rose Candles
  • Black Lotus
  • Mortar & Pestle
  • Mana Crystal (Doesn't have to be large. You won't get addicted.)
  • Azure Chalk.
Gestures & Ritual
  • Find a way to shatter the mana crystal. Make sure to keep the slivers at hand.
  • Pulp the Black Lotus with the Mortar & Pestle. Once the Lotus has been crushed into a thick paste, add in the slivers, one at a time, and keep pulping.
  • Using the Azure Chalk, create a circle (it has to be perfect) big enough for you to lie in, without touching the circle edge. Preferably use the side of the chalk, for a thicker border.
  • In a pentagram fashion, place the candles just outside of the Azure Circle. If you want accuracy, it's every 72 degrees in the rotation.
  • Drill, or create, five holes in the Obsidian pipe.
This is the preparation over and done with, but the ritual has yet to begin.
  • Carefully, create a slash on the back of your head. Feel free to ask a friend to help you do so.
  • Rub the new salve into the injury. This will act as a medium for the ritual, once it is underway.
  • Move into the circle, with your Obsidian stick. Carefully light each candle.
  • Rotate the rod slightly, so that the black smoke that each candle creates can make contact with a different hole in the rod. Make sure to use up all five holes.
  • Seat yourself in the centre of the ritual circle, in a meditative position. hold the ends of the pipe with the palm of your hands, and close your eyes.
The ritual base is completely finished at this point, and all that is needed is an incantation.

"Tor'velu, et'al diep-an. Cosur ahn kihaj felot."

  • Repeat this incantation five times, one for each hole.
Based on the research, the subject of the experiment will slip further into a sleeplike trance for each hole that they incant. The subject -MUST- stay awake until all five holes have been satisfied. Failure to do so will result in complete memory loss.
