Denegrim

Report: Ad-hoc expedition to Northrend, Scribe Darksun with Field Command. Designate 'Denegrim', acting on confirmed authority of Weaver Dawnglade, communicated to the mixed operations group that Weaver Dawnglade had been taken captive during a pre-planned expedition to Northrend. Pre-established tracking put the most likely location at the Howling Fjord.
Mixed element team consisting of Scribes Tarietha Darksun and Valreau, Severed Herseth Twinfire, BP operative Mika Tel'anore and mercenaries Neleriana and Ereldryl assembled, and transported from Kul Tiras to Fjord via commissioned airship.
Upon arrival in theatre, scrying and tracking located a significant Saronite mining operation, populated by dwarves who appeared to be under significant mental control. Team was able to affect entry to the complex with minimal disturbances. All reported experiencing persistent auditory phenomena (whispers) and persistent psychological attacks.
Dwarven miners increased in density, and teams were forced to defend themselves. Team reported witness sight of a black goat, with both eyes missing yet with a third, additional, eye carved into its forehead.
Team located Weaver Dawnglade, in situ in a ritual. Physical form pierced multiple times by Saronite ore spurs, and being held from being fully impaled by five separate ritual locks, attached to magical chains. Each lock corresponded to a virtue - specifically, resilience, power, understanding, fear and pain. Team was able to activate the locks in sequence, by demonstrating a personal connection to the specific emotion listed, and channelling power. The ritual team was under sustained attack from dwarven mining forces, significant injuries sustained.

Upon activation of all five locks, Weaver Dawnglade was freed. At this point operative Ereldryl, apparently succumbing to mental influence, attacked Scribe Darksun and Severed Twinfire. Simultaneously, operative Tel'anore exited the combat zone, in pursuit of the black goat, saying about how it 'offered freedom from fear'. Scribe Valreau was able to effect magical exfiltration of the team, apart from operative Tel'anore, who had left range. Extract resulted in a significant magical explosion, causing significant damage to mining operations.
Post-action: All injured were stabilised. Extraction signalled. Operative Tel'anore was able to make her way out independently. Upon arrival at the extraction site, operative Tel'anore was clearly suffering from psychological trauma.
Notes: Scribe Valreau to be commended for significant personal sacrifice in sustaining extraction spell. Scribe Valreau sustained significant injury in the process, but her actions meant the rest of the team were able to extract safely. Severed Twinfire to be commended for efficient and zealous defense of ritual teams and for personal significant sacrifice to open one of the locks.
Operations: Field Command strongly recommends that neither Weaver Dawnglade nor Operative Tel'anore are to leave Shadowprey without first being tested for Saronite, or related, corruption. Suggested personal review by Myandra.
