Runic Scrolls

Runes are simply patterns, two-dimensional depictions of intricate spell work previously laid out onto a surface by a rune caster or an inscriber. These patterns are incredibly complex, made up of many different patterns, symbols but essentially lines and curves. To simply, runes are spell works placed onto paper of which their power is only amplified by the presence of ley-lines or augmentation from the caster.   Due to their intricacy these spell works would, at times, require a large work surface to be put onto, unlike the Runic cards that only allow for simple runes or spells to be placed onto them, the scrolls are a compact and portable way of carrying around much more intricate and complex runes or spell-works. These can be previously imbued with arcane as such with the cards to allow for others to use them beside arcane users.   To explain their advantage over the runic cards more. The Runic cards can hold very simple spells such as a fireball, frost-bolt, arcane blast and so on so forth. These Scrolls can contain more runes and thus more complex rune works such as Mass-teleportation, Gravity alteration of an area, Barrier creation. Along with being able to have more intricate spell works they can also augment more simple ones, turning a previously mentioned fireball into a wave of fire capable of wiping out an entire forest if enough arcane is applied.   To make these scrolls would require a great deal of time and energy so it is not advised they be made in large quantities unless you plan on using them.    The process is similar to that of Runic Cards as you use arcane powder mixed in with ink and then across the longer, unravelled scroll do you begin to inscribe the intricate runes and patterns needed for the spells. Only then needing to set perimeters for activation and imbue it with arcane either after completion or at a later date depending on if you with for it to be usable for a non-arcane user.
