Salvage artefact: Medra

What is it made of?

The Salvage artefact is one of a collection of relics made from from previously damaged or dormant relics left abandoned and collecting webs deep within the vaults. Since in recent times the vaults have slowly begun to be cleared out, relics and artefacts have been found in varied states. Those considered beyond repair and scrapped in a productive manner or converted into something useful. This is one of the first of these projects. Medra.

How does it work?

To go along the lines of allowing anyone to use an item that is created for the brotherhood, rather than just spell casters. It has been enchanted to obey command words allowing it to be used by people who may not even be able to manipulate mana.

Description:

This is an arcane based salvage artefact that can be used by all. All of it's spells and it's very being is comprised of a light blue and lilac hue. It constantly floats about five cm off of the group / over your palm when wielding it and will only work when command words are said within a 2m range of it.

Command Words:

  Activation: "Tor" Deactivation: "Daf"

Spells:

Bolt - Gesture at target, "Vos"   Bind - Gesture at target "Vex"   Explosion - Point at desired epicentre, move hand up to change output. (Ves)

Manufacturing process

The main battery is comprised of a crystal from a staff that had snapped into pieces beyond repair, the entries relating to it are unclear of the previous owner and of what powers it wielded but the crystal remained intact after all it's time and thus was used as a core for this experimental piece. After powering the crystal in the scribe hut, the crystal has not ceased to float and in order to transport it, smaller chunks of different crystal were added with weight increasing enchants to act as anchors for the crystal as well as focuses. Since then it was placed in a casing of silver and has been augmented using runes of siphoning, runes of quickening and runes of power to increase natural generation, spell speed and output.
