Void Scribe Rituals: Doorways (Key Ritual)

This is in association with the previous entry relating to the keys handed among scribes and trusted researchers and parties to shared hubs of the brotherhood and research facilities.  

Ritual Purpose

This ritual is used to create a temporary doorway to be able to use the Key of the Scribes in rural areas where actual doorways are unavailable for the scribe and they require to make a quick escape and are not a student of telemancy or a similar school.  

Ritual Preparation

After locating a suitable place to begin the ritual, along the bottom of both ends of the archway draw a basic chalk circle and within the one on the left detail the symbol on your key that matches the destination you wish and on the right copy the symbol on the tip of the key. This is a telemancy rune and will be key to opening the doorway. Placing the key on the ground between the two points is the next stop. Now this is where the ritual diverges depending on if the caster is Arcane or using a secondary source.  

Arcane Caster:

The Caster must have a suitable control of their arcane, for they must channel their arcane in a chain first to the ruin on the left, marking a location for the teleport, then for the key to allow access to such a location and lastly the telemancy rune on the right to open the door way.  

Arcane Power source:

The arcane source must first be applied to the key, as to stabilise the ritual then to the rune on the left to mark a location and then to then to the telemancy rune to open the door way, this will drain any minor source of arcane but major sources should be fine.

Material Components
  • An opening must be present, this can be an open door way, a cave entrance, anything resembling an archway. (Can be natural or manmade)
  • Chalk is recommended but anything that can be used to draw onto the archway shall do
  • An arcane fuel source, either a caster or a secondary source is applicable [ the keys themselves have a faint enough arcane charge to act as the power source once ]

Applied Restriction
If the doorway is invalid, nothing will happen If the runes are lit up in the wrong order there is a plethra of things that can go wrong. (If telemancy is done first, it will teleport away the key to an unknown location) (if the key is done first when its an arcane caster it will break the key) (if the location rune is done first when its a power source the power source won’t allow itself to be connected and it will have to be started again)
