Isurium

An Oasis, Lost

One of the greatest tragedies of the Empire is what happened to Isurim. I mourn for the countless unique species of flora that were lost to that hateful day.

Isurium holds a near-unique distinction among the islands of the Blue. It is the only uninhabited island claimed by the Trade Union Union, mirrored by Liber in the Empire. One of the many scars the Trade Union bears from the Glesseal-Imperial war, Isurium was never renamed after the Trade Union gained its independence, either.

A sparkling Oasis

Before the war, Isurium was unique for a different reason. It was the lushest island west of what is now known as Mimsam. Only stories remain, but the island was supposedly carpeted from edge to edge in a thick, mossy forest. Several distinct flowers and fruits were only found on Isurium, including a type of flower that supposedly could be brewed into a powerful aphrodesiac tea.

Razed

On the morning of the 65th of Nadir, in the 280th year of Sorcerous Age, the Imperial Navy descended on the colony of Isurium. Isurium had joined with several other colonies in religious revolt against the Empire, and the Empire wanted to do like they had for every revolt previous: put it down swiftly and with immense violence. This was the first revolt where the Empire had sorcery to levy against their people, and the Navy used a contingent of Flameblood marines to burn the entire island to the ground.

Restoration Attempts

The Trade Union has tried to restore Isurium to its previous lushness. Water was carted from nearby Campe, and a contingent of Waterblood sorcerers tried to convince transported plants to grow. After a few weeks, and with nothing but dead plants to show for it, they gave up.
