Session V: A chapter closed Report
General Summary
The assault of the skeletal shark continued aboard the Remorhaz. With the aid of the sailors aboard the ship and a empowered strike by Bailiwick the monstrosity was defeated - well not quite. After the empowered strike the creature vomitted a slew of four skeletons. From there the shark exploded into a cloud of shrapnel that fell all the sailors around and leaving four more skeletons in its wake.
The battle was long and hard on all the members of the party yet they managed to pull through.
Arriving to Palebank Village the group disembarked as the sailors began to prepare burials for their fallen.
The party scattered upon entering town.
Kethra: Upon seeing the elder elf of the village Kethra immediately inquires why they were 200gp short. Elro Aldataur relays that Huli and Tuli had recently passed from the woe yet two other individuals became afflicted mysteriously. He had paid what was agreed upon and sent the rest of the cure off to Uthodurn. After a bit of intimidation from Kethra the elder gave in and promised the remaining coin the following day. During this Kethra revealed to Elro that a man named "Fetch," was the root cause of all their issues and is in possession of move vials of Frigid Woe. Kethra then left to return to the Jolly Dwarf.
Bailiwick: Heading to the smithy Bailiwick purchases a longsword and trades in his shortsword. He also inquires about a brass brazier and proceeds to re-summon his Quasit that was killed by Freya back during the winter wolf fight. He then proceeded to head to the Jolly Dwarf and hang outside.
With word that Fynix has been spotted Freya dashed off seeking out the coach master all within view of Kethra and Bailiwick. Kethra followed after the druid and they both met with the coach master who mentioned that some time ago - around a half a year or so, he took Fynix down to a fortress out on the wastes for some reason. He couldn't recall much about the dwarf aside from he was a 'nice fella.'
With that everyone turned in for the night in the Jolly Dwarf.
During the night Arkeshia was awakened by Honor who said that Magic and her found something in the basement. The bard is then lead down to the inn's basement where a large magic circle was that was steadily growing in intensity. The more the girls prodded it the stronger it grew.
Arkeshia quickly fetched Bailiwick for assistance but he wasn't able to make heads or tails of the circle. Thus the tiefling grabbed Freya and Kethra. At this point the circle was on the verge of activating. A joke was put forward to toss Freya in but Kethra stepped forward to say otherwise.
The party found a discarded receipt of items that were needed to craft the circle and found Fetch's signature near the bottom. The receipt also stated the destination: Shadycreek. Deciding it was best not to trust the circle the party shooed the girls away and Kethra stood guard for the remainder of the night. At morning the party gathered their things and ventured off, back into the wastes of the Crystalsands Tundra.
