Session VII: Hullidak Report

General Summary

The challenge rang out through the valley and the party quickly realized they were surrounded by gnolls of the White Bone Clan. It was an ambush.
Taking a leap of faith before anyone could properly have the chance to react; Kethra gave the horses the command to run. The chase was on as the gnolls followed after the party.
Attempting to catch up the gnolls never could quite get into range, the only true threat was the pack leader lobbing poisoned arrows at them from afar. Whilst charging a pillar fell in the path yet Kethra quickly traversed around it while the party was doing what it could to pick off the gnolls.
Due to a moment of luck Bailiwick slowed an arrow from landing a critical strike on Arkeshia.
Shortly after the ground in front of them began to rise and the horses passed by just in time to evade the giant frost worm that emerged from the ground seeking prey - which it found in the White Bone Clan.

While approaching the fort Freya noticed a tree with druidic symbols carved into that said "Good Dwarves Ahead." Arriving at the front of the fortress proper the ever-subtle Kethra pounded on the door until they were let inside. The one who answered the door was a smelly dwarf by the name of "Snat." The entry area was wide enough for the horses and wagon to fit inside uncomfortably.
Beyond the entry was a set of doors leading out to a training yard, set in front of said doors was a destroyed tomb with a familiar emblem emblazoned upon it. The symbol of Torm. Seeing this Bailiwick inquired what happened to the tomb - to which Snat responded that they destroyed it for fun.
This set the paladin off on an aggressive path to find answers.
Out in the training yard the party saw three more individuals, a female elf who could only be deemed an "amazon," a thin bandit throwing knives named "Deeno," and his twin brother who greeted the new arrivals;"Antonio."
Bailiwick pressed on to find the boss, Sireen, and her drow bodyguard "Al," to demand answers. Tensions steadily rose as things didn't add up. The place was a wreck, aside from Snat there were no dwarves there, and the tomb to Torm was in shambles.
Tensions hit a breaking point as Kethra attacked Antonio, killing him outright. Combat started and the party fought for their lives. The captain, Sireen, and her bodyguard proved to be more of a challenge than those out in the yard as they held Bailiwick and Freya at bay for a bit.
Sireen, seeing the tides turning, decided to make a break for it; to fetch a horse and flee. She instead spotted the team's horses guarded by Arkeshia and Mynneos. One-by-one the bandits fell as Sireen made her attempt to flee. It was Mynneos, though, who thwarted her after dodging two strikes from her blade - the pseudo-dragon stung the Captain causing her to fall unconcious.
Kethra, seeing this, took quick action to end the bandit captain. Snat and Deeno were promptly captured to be interrogated on what happened.
