Session XXVII: Tip-Top Report

General Summary

The party had ventured into the mire located in the south-eastern portion of the Savalirwood seeking out components to provide Arkeshia the ability to see through the dark. This section of the Savalirwood was known to be riff with foul creatures and dieseases. The very land itself has been warped by the presence of the Ancient Black Dragon Thelidandys.
Upon venturing within the group stumbled upon a raft, which they used to travers the crismon waters of the land. Thanks to quick thinking by the energetic Freya, the path was cleared as the trees forty feet out from the raft were sucked into the ground allowing clear vision and minimal issues traversing the mire.
After a bit of time upon the waters and a very brief encounter with a Bloodmire Shark, the group came upon the tree-top village of Tip-top. A small village comprised of huts set upon the canopy of the crimson trees of the Bloodmire. Numerous platforms all connected by small rope bridges leading down to a center platform where a large emerald-colored orb was held aloft by iron rods.
Upon approach the group is beseeched by the supposed elder of the village A'ren, who inquires if they hold any gold. When Bailiwick flourished a golden coin the group is welcomed with open arms. Through discussing with the elder the party learns of how the village has been about for generations and were forced to reside in this corner of the mire due to the influence of Thelidandys and his brood, Lioze. The party is informed that Lioze resides south of the current location in a sinking fortress known as the Haword Fort. Although, the village's contact Nifzar, also resides there and can provide them with eel stomachs. A'ren requests the group to free the village's hero, Furiel, from his stony prison out in the Verdant Heart in exchange for a wooden rod that Arkeshia was able to discern was magical.
Not wishing to venture out at a reduced power the party decides to stay the night in Tip-top despite Kethra's words not too. For something felt off about this village and she didn't wish to stay longer than was required. Come the morning light it became apparent why they, indeed, should not have stayed - for the Aasimar and Tiefling were both transmorphed into halfling versions of themselves. Even the psuedodragon, Mynneos, was not spared the fate.
Leaving the village in their new dimminuative forms the adventurers headed east into the mire once more. The bitting insects taking their tolls as Freya, Arkeshia, and Mynneos were afflicted by disease and the damage. The burning pain of the disease was enough to even revert Mynneos back to his original form. Taking a moment to rid them of their diseases the group pressed on into the Verdant Heart.
There the party found a humanoid stone statue that was the Tip-top hero Furiel cast in stone and bound to a tree by a blade. When Kethra's echo removed the blade she found her Blade of Darkened Vengeance suddenly heavy as the man broke free from the stone and in a crazed fit morphed into a large devil and attacked the party.
Through the sheer might of Torm's holy smites and clever spells by Freya the group was able to fell the devil and extract an eye. All that is left now is the two eel stomachs.
Yet there are now many questions left unanswered about this region that are beggining to haunt the team.
