Balor was a dwarf on a mission of vengeance. Dorroth Kegthane, Balor’s father, had been murdered and the Darkfyre Seed that was in his possession was stolen. Balor left his wife, Ailya and three children in their home city, Grimgolir and started to search Wildemount for his father’s killers and the Darkfyre Seed.
Before his father’s death, Balor was a friendly dwarf who enjoyed meeting new people and always helped out those in need. Now he was solely focused on his mission and only spent time on that which would get him to closer to his father’s killers. The only time the dwarf would show any positive emotion was when he was either writing a letter to his family or reading a letter from them.
The Kegthanes had always been involved in the brewing of beer. Gormak Kegthane, Balor’s grandfather, was the one who created the Kegthane Brewery Company. After Gormak lost his life in battle, his son Dorroth took over the business and made it into the company that it was today. It took Dorroth several years searching to finally find the Darkfyre Seed, which he hoped would revolutionise the beer industry, but first he would need the help of the Aleborn Clan to help him. During the meeting with the head of the Aleborn Clan, Forbun Aleborn, they were ambushed and murdered by shadowy assailants, and the Seed was stolen.
On news of his father's death, Balor swore an oath of vengeance. He had now tracked the killers to the Menagerie Coast, where he hoped to bring them to justice and recover the Darkfyre Seed that he hoped would bring great change to Dwarfish culture.
