Jensen Colter
Jensen Colter is one of the most well known names on the continent, and one of the least known individuals. He's a Gnomish man from Hupperdook, born into a family of Golem makers with a sterling reputation for craftsmanship. He was curious and inventive at a young age even for his family and other Gnomes.
During decades of trial and error with Stonerust, some of which caused immense damage to the family home in Hupperdook and causing him to be sent to an isolated workshop in the Crispvale Thicket, he finally cracked the method in 815 PD. The materials and process are costly and dangerous, but possible for semi-large scale production. Colter knew that what he had discovered would change the world, and the face of all future conflicts. He didn't hate the Empire but didn't love it either, so he decided to make sure the playing field was fair, even if it cost him. Before his invention was found out, he sent two packages containing a working model with the process to the town of Felderwin, and then south on the Scymir river through the Gehem Basin with one going to Nicodranas on the Menagerie Coast and one to Jigow in Xhorhas. In doing so, he ensured that the technology would spread and couldn't be kept secret by any one nation. He gave the technology to the Dwendalian Empire and for about a year the Empire thought they were the only ones with the information. They celebrated Colter as a hero, his name became synonymous with genius and was a household name. When the Dwendalian Empire learned in 817 PD about the packages sent to the Menagerie Coast and Xhorhas, they quietly imprisoned him in the Umber Dungeon of Zadash.
