Golden Hawk

Golden Hawk is the capital city of The Tokala Realm and is built into the side of the tallest mountain of the The Infernal Mountains. Despite the city's old age it is still a an impressive sight, with its buildings being well maintained and the stone brick streats being relatively free of debree. With the large number of people in the different rings, spacious open air market, and the available night life the city feels very alive.

Thanks to the influx of inter-planetary travelers since The Company, Golden Hawk have quickly advanced in techknowlege allowing them to build the only floating spelljammer ship dock known on Adenia, Central Docking, making it a popular center for transport and trade across The Tokala Realm .

Demographics

Most of the population is made up of Orin however over the years a number of people from what is now New Inizio have come to live in Golden Hawk forming small communities within the safe walls of the capital city.

Government

Golden Hawk is the capital city of The Tokala Realm so naturally the leader of Golden Hawk is also the leader of The Tokala Realm . The leadership structure exists with the Nuha at the top overseeing the Charge Ring with the 3 Oceti overseeing one of the remaining 3 rings.

The Nuha is a hereditary position passed down to the oldest living child of the Nuha at the time of the Nuha's death. Typically the eldest is trained for their future role as the Nuha starting at a very young age.

The Oceti are appointed by the Nuha and are considered the most important and influential people in their respective rings. The Nuha can grant or revoke a deed of status to anyone at any time however this is traditionally done through a ceremony when a current Oceti dies or wishes to retire.

Defences

Golden Hawk is surrounded by a substantial stone wall and is lightly patrolled by guards on a raised walkway. Visitors to the capital must enter through the main gate in Ring 4: The Growth Ring or through the Spelljammer Docks in Ring 3: The Trade Ring.

Districts

Ring 1: The Charge Ring

This ring contains most of the administrative buildings that help keep the capital running smoothly. Locations like the Golden Hall, the Tokala Treasury, and the The High Court can be found in this ring.

While there are only a few people live in this ring there are still a few services that can be found here that are used by everyone, such as The Imperfect Angle a popular tavern where people who work in this ring often come to enjoy the company of others after a long days work and The Cloud a popular club where the people of Golden Hawk can be found letting loose (especially on the weekends).

Ring 2: The Learned Ring

The Orin People and especially those in Golden Hawk place a high value on knowledge and learning, as a result, The Learned Ring is the largest of the 4 rings and often the busiest. In this ring, it is common to find schools like Alornity Schoolhouse, where younger Orin learn general life skills, academies like Bopron's Academy, where citizens are able to learn specific skills useful in trade professions, and of course The Great Library, the largest building in the ring which holds the largest collection of books in all of The Tokala Realm.

The majority of the permanent residence of Golden Hawk reside in this ring including Tor Rockshine the Oceti for The Learned Ring. There are not many taverns or inns in this ring however there are a number of tea shops with the most popular being The Nook, locals will often visit to enjoy a drink with their latest book from The Great Library.

Ring 3: The Trade Ring

This is where most of the people who live in Golden Hawk work and apply all of their skills and knowledge. Should you find yourself in needing help crafting for finding a particular item or service this ring is the place to start. Despite recent efforts by the Nuha and Oceti's best efforts this ring has the highest level of crime of all the rings, due to the large number of people moving in and out for work and trade through the tunnels or Central Docking.

With the loud noises and distinct odors given off by the businesses and workshops here there are few people who choose to live here. Those who do often live above the place they work. Dusty lives in a small home next to the Central Docking along the edge of the ring. Dusty has been the talk of the city recently as she is the first non-orin to be named a Oceti in the history of Golden Hawk.

Ring 4: The Growth Ring:

Given that this ring holds the main gate for Golden Hawk it is only natural that this ring has an exceptionally high degree of foot traffic between locals, merchants, and visitors. Within The Growth Ring, a variety of plants are grown, ranging from the common to the remarkably rare. Most plants are used to feed the people of Golden Hawk but there are also a few greenhouses like the Forbor Batanicals which grows and sells rare plants native to other worlds. This ring is a place of natural beauty with a large garden at it center called Everarbor. Many Orin choose to use the space to practice more active skills like acrobatics that might prove difficult to do in the tight quarters of The Learned Ring.

A large portion of the non-orin population lives in this ring primarily due to its proximity to the main gate and the refreshing abundance of nature. Medrah Greenspark oversees this ring and also helps run the local inn, The Frigile Lotis, providing travelers with a place to rest after a long day of travel. They enjoy welcoming travelers, especially adventurers, as they often have unique tales to tell. Medrah Greenspark has been known to offer a night at the inn to adventures who have a particularly intriguing story to tell.
