Big Bad Wolf

Overly Sarcastic Productions did a video on Pure Evil Villains that can really help me in writing villains like the Big Bad Wolf, the Grimm in general and human characters that are pure evil. the casual otaku also discusses pure evil villains, with using envy as an example, which i can also use to develop big bad wolf. Villains like the Big Bad Wolf, who simply want to wreak havoc and chaos to all of mankind, is a great villain to put next to heroes like Ruby, who simply wants to make the world a better place as her scattered rose symbolism suggests due to how her past has shaped her, whereas Big Bad Wolf has no relevant past, "I kill therefore I am". The “more complicated foil” character to the pure evil villain could be used in my story to show how far Ruby will go to redeem someone. In fact, Big Bad Wolf originally planned for Ruby herself to have the “more complicated foil” sidekick role, so Ruby’s conflict with this sidekick has an extra level of depth, as this is what Ruby could’ve become if Tai and Qrow didn’t save her in the nick of time.   A good example of how to write your villains: "Not at all. I don't want Korra broken and left a mess. What Amon should have been was a counterpoint to Korra, and a thematic/narrative rival and opposite to Korra. Where Korra lacks spirituality Amon is very spiritual. Where Korra fails at understanding the average person Amon understands them perfectly. The way his character was set up showed him as a brilliant mastermind and very politically savvy, something Korra is obviously terrible at. It provides Korra with an obstacle she can't punch out of the way. She has to change her approach and be more like her natural element water to deal with the Equalists, forcing her to face her inadequacies as an Avatar and grow from it. The only way to deal with Amon would be to tackle him on the political field. Sadly the show deprived us of this and had Korra punch things until he went away."   Big Bad Wolf's goal and motivation is that he wants to cause as much chaos and mayhem to mankind as he can without mankind destroying itself, partly to create as many Grimm as possible and partly because he's fascinated to see how far mankind can be pushed until it's destroyed. He has a twisted admiration to mankind for being able to endure so much.

Personal history

Big Bad Wolf helped Mercury into killing his father in order to eat Marcus’ soul and obtain his Semblance of stealing other Semblances. He promised Mercury that if they succeeded then he would give Mercury his Semblance back. Big Bad Wolf was very picky about which Semblance-user should be his first “meal” because he knew that he could only obtain one Semblance, so he wanted it to be the best. This helps tie Mercury into the main plot, as he kind of has a hand in setting all of these events into motion.
