Guilwood Island
The folk of Guilwood Island is very accepting. If you come to their shores with open heart and good intentions, you can find much happiness there. That is, if you survive the dangers of the island itself, of which there are plenty. However, to all those who step on the Guilwood soil with ill intent, well... Who knows what would happens to them? Truth be told, it is almost as if he island itself makes them dissapear.Guilwood Island lies in the southern part of the mapped New World. It is almost completely covered in the guil trees, from which comes the name. Despite its mediocre size, the island proved impossible to map out as most of the expeditions that went deep into its jungles failed at the task. Some of them got lost and wandered for days only to somehow come out in what was a mere mile or two away from their original point of departure, despite going straight ahead the whole time. Some of them never made it back at all. What is even more suprising, the locals do not seem to have maps of any kind, yet they are able to navigate the island freely. They can lead the people into the island as well, but only those the locals deem worthy of it. Which are, by their definition, only the purest of souls. The island is often said to be a place of magic, protected by the very nature. However, the churches would never approve of such words, so people tend to keep quiet about that in public. Surprisingly, it is probably the only discovered island of significant size that has not been claimed by any nation. However, as it falls under no rule and despite the island's reputation, many people also come here to settle their scores, or to run some kind of illegal business. The church missionaries and conquistadors sometimes wander into the depth of the island as well, most often aiming to get rid of the sorcerers they believe to inhabit the island.
