New Heresy

God is dead. We know not how he died or why he died, or even when he died. But he is dead, for sure. Everything indicates that. As for what the churches preach to be the God's works... those are just the natural forces of the world. The Gracious Wind is not God's breath or God's will — it is his spirit, nothing more and nothing less. Just one of the countless spirits inhabiting this world. Although it is, admittedly, the strongest one out of them all.
While both the Church of Three Prophets and the Old Church hail God as the creator of all and the being whose will brings about the Gracious Wind, the followers of the New Heresy think different. The New Heresy is, in its essence, a merging of the Old World's monotheistic religion with the New World's reverence of the spirits. As such, it does not reject the Three Prophets' teachings as a whole, but considers them to be some sort of guidance by a wise spirit rather than something that must be strictly followed at all times. Every follower of the New Heresy selects their own spirits to pray to and their own teachings to follow, and they tend to have much less prejudice against sorcery compared to the god-fearing followers of the Old World's churches.

Public Agenda

The declared agenda is simple - live free and let others do the same. Be open to new things, even if they contradict all you have been taught before. Strive for wisdom and better understanding of the world, not for blind faith. While this goes far beyond the religion alone - the idea applies to the principles of government as well - it has been enough for the movement to be labeled a heresy by both major religious denominations. How else could the Churches respond to a claim that God is dead and all their teachings are mistaken, coming from a movement that has been started by their own clerics?!

History

It is inevitable for any big community, the Church included, to have a few rotten apples. Ours are simply the most devout of them all.
— Father Rodrigo Viemont
Many priests chose to become preachers in the New World at one point or another. Some of them survived and gained respect among the Vurradians. A few of them end up becoming too familiar with the locals.   One of the many church expeditions ended up with majority of the priests finding a lot of wisdom in the teachings of the locals. Instead of applying their wits and knowledge towards preaching the tenents of the Church, the priests instead used them in order to help the local tribes to fight back. Several small islands were soon overrun, their garrisons scattered and administration expelled, settlers forced to make peace with all Vurradians or leave immediately. This movement, going against both the political and religion order in the New World, has attracted many volunteers and dreams from all over the world.
