The Poet

The guy must really be popular with ladies. He's probably a better poet than he's an assassin, to tell the truth. Gets paid triple the money from a normal contract, so I've heard. No wonder he doesn't even take any serious jobs. Why bother risking your life, when most of your payment comes not from who you kill but how you kill?

"The Poet" is the code name for one of the members of the Thousand Knives. The person going under that code name is not known to execute many difficult contracts, mostly doing the ones that are considered rather ordinary by the standards of the guild. However, the Poet is widely renowned for his distinct style of killing. All of his known targets so far were killed by a knife stab to the heart, and every single time there was a piece of paper impaled on the blade of the knife. Those papers always only contain one short and beautifully written poem, and every time it is a new one. In fact, no person has ever managed to recognise any of those poems, which lead everyone to believe that the assassin writes them himself. The paper used for writing the poems is of very high quality too, and the handwriting is considered by many to be a model of elegance. All things considered, it is not hard to see where the assassin got his code name from.
