Witch Cottages

HISTORY

Many hundred of years ago there lived a great Witch. When she died she left behind instructions as to how her remains were to be disposed of; her body was to be cremated and her ashes scattered around the Valley. The first part was carried out during a rather simple ceremony which, never-the-less was attended by a great many people. The second part caused a bit of debate, but the Witch had thought of this too, and after the last of the embers of her pyre had gone out, a large air elemental descended and scooped up the ashes.
Look, I don't know how to explain it ok. You know I'm not taken to flights of fancy, it's just, it would be a great place to build a cottage. Just come with me to take a look, and you'll see what I mean.
— Hiker with an idea upon returning home to his village
The elemental scattered the ashes in small clumps all over the Valley, in every nook and cranny, high and low. Everywhere the ashes landed something quite peculiar happened, an idea sprang into existence, an idea with very strong opinions about how certain things ought to be. Those who came across one of these ideas carried a piece of it away with them, and soon they would return with others, and before long a cottage would spring up, a cottage with very strong opinions about how certain things ought to be.

ARCHITECTURE

Every cottage is different as they are made in whatever style, and from whatever materials are used by those who built them. Some are made from wood, some from stone, some from brick, and some built into hillsides, some have thatched roofs, some tiled and some living grass. They are all however, extremely well constructed and built to withstand the ravages of nature, most notably the considerable amount of Weather experienced in these parts.

Unfulfilled Purpose

It is believed by some Witches that there are still ideas out there that have not yet formed into cottages. Lonely ideas who are still not able to perform their sole purpose in life; to be home and connection to a true Witch.
