The Spas were the brainchild of Wembist Willowbark, a Gnomish traveller and amateur herbalist. On one of his expeditions around the Rannoc Valley he was conversing with a fellow traveller on the wonderful properties of peat mud, when they jokingly made a comment about how city dwellers would probably pay good money for the chance to roll around in it. This comment stuck in Willowbark's head and an idea began to form. It would be several years before he was ready to give up travelling and return home to the Moorlands, but the idea never left him, and it didn't take long for him to turn his idea into a plan once he did return. Once he had convinced enough Gnomes of the benefits of this business plan, construction of the first peat baths began. Now, twelve years later, there are three of these peat spas in the Moorlands, each one catering to a different type of get-away.Structure
While Willowbark still oversees the running of the business and ensures it remains profitable, his two daughters have taken over most of the day to day responsibilities. This pleases Willowbark greatly as he knows that he will be able to enjoy his retirement, knowing his children will take good care of his legacy.
Each Spa is overseen by a (name for manager/overseer) who works out the job rotas, ensures the facilities are kept in tip top shape, and gives regular reports to Willowbark and his daughters, Wapwahis and Flebnuhith.
Every spa also has a Welcomer who's job it is to: ensure every guest is greeted in a friendly manner, log each guest's name and which spa package they have purchased, and ensure these details are passed on to the Helpers.
