Hidlend
Demographics
Entirely made up of Norscan people and their captured slaves.
Government
As per the usual ruling system of Norscan settlements, the village is governed by a council of elders. Those who got out raiding or to wage war elect a Jarl who will lead them during the duration of the action before retiring (usually to a small island nation he has procured for himself).
Defences
The primary defence of this village is its secrecy. It is some ways up a river, hidden from view of the ocean and surrounded by a deep and dense forest. It is located on a small island that has few desirable resources beyond the timber on it, which most people gather from the edge on the far side of the island which is relatively well protected from storms.
Assets
The Norscan have three intact warships out of its original raiding party of nearly 15. An additional five are undergoing active repair, and additional three are trying to be made on top of it.
Guilds and Factions
There are currently two factions within the village of Hidland. The loyalists to Jarl Vilscan, and the others who think that Jarl Vilscan has failed and want to promote Beorn to Jarl. Nothing has come to a head eyt
History
Established by Jarl Vilscan as a base of observation of Ethilia, a largely unknown location to the Norscan people, and potential raiding center. Unfortunately Jarl Wilscan was cut off from the rest of his Norscan people through careful and diligent work of the Seaxen people who dislike the Norscan on principle.
Now Jarl Vilscan has been slowly repairing his few remaining boats hidden away in the bend of a river in the center of a forest. Many of his people have died, but he has also discreatly managed to take on new slaves to fill out his numbers, some of which he has promoted to full citizenship in exchange for sworn service.
