Wulfstone

This stone is mined near the city of Warwick in the former far western city of Estmerian's part of Ethilia. After the battle of Warwick ownership passed to a Seaxe Earl who has continued the tradition of trading and mining the stone uninterrupted. Due to the moon based properties of the stone the mage towers in the north, along with the dwarven folk to the north-east have taken a great interest in the material. Ordering as much of it as can be easily mined.   With each new moon of the year the properties of Wulfstone shift in some way. Research is being conducted into discovering what exactly those shifts are and what is causing them. Current theories suspect that the moon is shifting which plane of existence the stone is connected to, and that the stone takes on some of the properties of each plane while it is in alignment.   The mining of Wulfstone is controlled in name by the local Earl. In practice, the management, and oversight of the actual extraction has been conducted by an Estmerian family the Von Steins. A extremely wealthy family now who arose out of mostly obscurity. They owned the original iron mines that discovered the Wulfstone, and conducted the early trade agreements that saw the creation of the market for Wulfstone. They are one of the only families in Ethilia that own a manor house entirely constructed of Wulfstone, the family itself has become strange over time, some blame the stone for the change but no conclusive proof has been found.
