Beware Meta Gaming!

Meta gaming, also called power playing, is the concept of letting your character do things they should not be able to do, controlling another player character’s actions or reactions without their express permission, acting on information that your character wouldn’t reasonably know (like suddenly knowing the monster is vulnerable to fire damage, despite having never encountered or met that monster before in game), or intentionally taking advantage of unintended exploits in the game’s rule set to trivialize the game.   The reality is a little bit of meta gaming is unavoidable, especially with experienced players or those with GM backgrounds. We just ask players to monitor and be aware of their in-game behavior and take steps to avoid doing it on purpose or in a way that creates a negative experience for other players and game masters. If there’s ever a concern, ask! Staff take great effort to maintain a fair and fun game environment for everyone and can offer advice on tips and tricks to help avoid meta gaming.   That said, meta gaming itself - intentional or not - is explicitly against the server rules. We operate on a three-strike system: a warning, followed by a 1 week suspension, followed by a server ban (appeals are at staff discretion and will be discussed at the time of banning).
