Decide on a Format

The most popular format for PBP is usually a "one shot" - that is to say, a brief experience focusing on one, maybe two encounters. Aside from RP, assuming everyone maintains consistent activity, usually only run a week or two, if not a few days. If you want to run a one-shot, you're free to use one of our mission templates, as outlined below. Otherwise, feel free to plot your own missions.

Campaigns, on the other hand, are longer term formats that vary wildly in length from one mission to the next, and may feature as many as six encounters (plus an optional seventh boss encounter, if you feel so inclined). It's normal for these kinds of scenarios to run several weeks while the party progresses towards whatever goal you have set in mind.
