With the arrival of
Resonance, it’s also been found that magic items can have their magical essence drawn out and converted into Chromatite (this does not destroy the original item, but it does remove any magical properties) through a process called Reverberation.
Choose a magical item you no longer desire. Spend gold equivalent to buying a consumable magic item of matching rarity (50, 100, 500, or 5,000 gp) and gain a Chromatite of matching rarity. The original item becomes a mundane item with no magical properties.
Legendary items and consumables are immune to Reverberation. As Chromatite gains power through the strange magical forces present during exploration and combat, freshly forged magic items are likewise immune. Items bought in #market cannot undergo Reverberation until they've been in a character's possession for at least two (2) weeks.
