Cysterani

Cysterani is a region found within Southeastern Evermist. It is a region of low elevation and gradually spills into the Ballgan Sea. It is known for its flowing, blessed rivers that overtake the region. The main inhabitant of the region are the Cysterean Elves, also known as River Elves. They float on their cities down the rivers only going on land if necessary, as the wilds of the region are extremely dangerous and host numerous deadly species not cataloged. The weather is fairly sunny and pleasent in the region, but hurricanes and typhoons frequent the region. Gigantic gysers as tall as mountains also spew out from the land, causing the geography of Cysterani to ever be changing, with a new river being created and another ending daily, causing mapping of the region to be extremely difficult. 

Numens of the River

Numens are deities that the Cysterean Elves believe control a certain river. The deities can be pre-existing gods or entirely new deities specific to that region. The River Elves believe that they must bring an offering to the numen of the river they are about to float their city down, lest it be sank or float out to sea. City-states can claim alligence to a certain numen and float only on that certain river. This can lead to war between the Cysterean city states when a river may change its flow into another river, which is known as a Course War, which the other elven races look down upon, especially the High Elves.

Dividine, who controls River Cysterani, the largest of Rivers
Meredian, who controls River Imias, the deepest of river
Esyolua, who controls River Alton, the most rebellious river
Aurorea, who controls the Green River, the most lush river
Ilal-Bilendiuer, who controls the River Prefect, the calmest of rivers
Bevanan, who controls the River Claryun, the shallowest river
Oeyar, who controls the Red River, the most dangerous river
Erias, who controls the Hidden River, the most mysterious river
Sildar, who controls River Fjordis, the river of many paths.
