Ethereal Peninsula

"The Ethereal Peninsula- home of our dead and our newborn. It is a place that has a dichotomy unlike any other, of death and life becoming unapologetically one with each other."

The Ethereal Peninsula is a region of Evermist to the south, that borders Cysterani and Urasmel. The region serves as a place of both death and fertility, with the dead of the entire elven race being put to rest in certain ways, as well as all elves being born in the peninsula. The only subrace of elf that is exempt from this rule is the Wood Elves, who give birth in birthing logs within the Deep Veil, exampled by Aurorea herself. This is due to the fact the region has specific nurseries in which the First Blessers give out the blessings of Ilal-Bilendiuer to make the newborn elves pure and perfect from birth. All elven races follow this custom besides the Dark and Umbral Elves. Those not born into the blessing of the First Blessers are marked as outcasts.
Once born, the elven children will then be separated. Only those that are not Middle or High Elves may return to their home region with their parents. High Elven children are then sent to separate academies and schools to be raised in the noble ways of High Elven culture, and the Middle Elves must attend lesser academia. Exams must be taken, and those that fail will be sent to be rank-and-file soldiers in the armies of Ryo-Alluin. Those that pass their exams are then allowed entry to the rest of Evermist and recommended a profession to best suite their skills, though it not be required for them to enter their recommended profession.
