Grouk

Grouk is a small island belonging to Guinile that sits just a day's journey off the Frozen Coast. A large mountain toward the middle of the island can be seen from the mainland. Sometime during the last years of the first century, a group of bramble goblins supposedly sailed from the Deak Desert and found Grouk unclaimed, and settled on the island. It is believed the goblins worshiped the Forsaken God Brehlo since idols and worship hymns have been found on the island. The island would remain in goblin hands until sometime during the early second era, when dwarves from Clan Mahraodan discovered the island and waged war with the goblins for it, in what is known as the War of the Isle, which lasted about two months before the dwarves were victorious. Clan Mahrahodan used the island as a sentry island to detect any invaders and small mines being set up after the discovery of minor ebony and silver deposits in the ground. The dwarves used the captured goblins as slave labor until almost all died out by the year 4608 2E, when the last recorded goblin died on the island. in 6051 3E, with the founding of the Volkan Empire, the island quickly fell under the control of the new empire, and was the first lands in Guilnile to be freed from Volkan control in 6120 3E due to a Roscrean coup and the large-scale dwarven rebellion. The island would return back into Clan Mahrahodan control in 6125 3E.
