Pack-link

As long as history can dictate, a pack-link can be used by werewolves as a way to communicate with their pack members without speaking a word. Simple gestures can hint at what they are talking about, but that is as far as non-werewolves will know of their unspoken language.

Limitations and Range

When a werewolf turns twelve, they can immediately link with their entire pack, but they have always been able to link with their birth parents. Adopted parents and siblings are unlinked until they come of age.   The mate bond is also important to a werewolf, and it links them closer than ever. Once they meet their mate, they can attempt to bond and link up to communicate whenever they need to. Rank is another consideration in the pack.   The Alpha can communicate with anyone in his pack, but a lower rank, such as an Omega, can only communicate with their rank and the Alpha. Distance does not matter to pack members unless they leave the pack territory.

Sensitivity and Emotions

Pack members can be more sensitive than others when receiving pack-link messages. Omegas usually react as if they are being shocked while an Alpha or a Warrior feels a soft tug at the back of their mind.   One's emotions can also register the best of them, pushing them past their brink. Age and the mate bond play a huge factor in the strength of the pack-link. When someone's mate has gone missing, there are ways to suppress the bond, making it impossible to contact their mate. Such ways are with wolfsbane and its liquid state, liquid wolfsbane. A drug with this capability renders the werewolf unable to contact anyone through the pack-link.   The younger a werewolf is, the more sensitive they are to the pack-link. First-timers often receive headaches and massive waves of nausea until they become used to it. As a werewolf ages and becomes an elder, they may lose the ability to communicate through the pack-link due to memory loss or even through losing their mate. The death of a mate can easily push a werewolf to mentally sever the pack-link and turn to the life of a loner werewolf.   In some instances, a werewolf can be born eccentric, or autistic by the world's standards. Eccentric werewolves may have a harder time adjusting to the pack-link than others, but most times, the pack-link makes it easier for the nonverbal eccentric werewolves to communicate other than using hand signs to let people know what is going on.
