Underton

Underton is a town in the south of Castonguay, located on the island of New Underdland and holds the distinction of being the the southern most settlement of Woodangees, as well as the furthest away from both the Capital and the main island in general. The Island of New Underland is mostly dense jungle, and few have ventured too far into it. Underton was founded by the survivors of the Destruction of Underland in the 5th Fishbone War.

Demographics

The population of Underton is made up of the descendants of the remnants of Underland, a settlement that used to exist on the main island in modern day Ontangees, but the people of Underland were forced to flee during the 5th Fishbone War, when Underland was sacked and left a ruin.

Underton makes it's living mostly on fishing, but also on timber.

History

Underton was founded by refugees from the former settlement of Underland, who sailed away from the main island seeking safety. Underland was sacked by Sluggica in retaliation for Underland aiding in the destruction of Deamona, forcing Sluggica's only ally from the region. It was troops from Underland that made the final push into Denfur, seizing the city and Capturing the Queen of Deamona. The Queen was later executed, and even though officials from Underland opposed that decision, Sluggica still blamed Underland for her death, and so they did not even capture the city, they raised it to the ground.

Natural Resources

The island of New Underland is mostly covered in dense rainforest, providing a great bounty. Underton is also home to several fisheries, producing a large quantity of fish for Woodangees and abroad, New Underland canned sardines are a popular export.
