Winnet
Due to it's isolated position internet access in Woodangees is not always reliable, with it going down often. With it's access to the global web spotty at best, Woodangees developed it's own internal intranet, called Winnet (Woodangees Internal National Network). Winnet allows Woodangian citizens to stay connected with each other reliably.
Winnet features Woodangees specific versions of various websites, including various social media and video sites, as well as a streaming service Watch that blatantly takes advantage of Woodangees lax copy right laws to pirate foreign media, using the times where the internet can be accessed to download shows and movies and upload them for Woodangians to watch. For this later blatant infringement of international copyright laws Winnet is considered controversial by many politicians, foreign and even Woodangian.
Utility
Winnet is a valuable tool for the people of Woodangees, with access to the world wide web being unreliable having an internal network that can fulfil that same role is vital to maintaining Woodangees as a modern society. It is also a valuable tool for the government to spread propaganda, with access to the outside being occasionally and sometimes intentionally cut off, the Worker's Party of Woodangees can make sure that the dominant narrative is what ever narrative they wish to push.
Social Impact
Since Winnet was rolled out dissent has gone down, with much information the people see being curated by the government. The people of Woodangees also now benefit from basic knowledge being readily available. The people also have all the same social ills that come from social media and the internet.
Access & Availability
Winnet can be accessed throughout Woodangees, with the only limits being some remote areas. Anyone in Woodangees has free access to Winnet, with it being considered publicly owned and therefore state funded.
