Athens stands tall in 3025, as the last remaining city in the world.
Ran by Advance Tech Industries, while secretly governed by ATHENA, Athens sits protected from its frozen wasteland surroundings with the use of huge sky-reaching walls, constructed from metal and concrete, encircling its surviving human population. The people are unaware of the events that have befallen the world, and live their lives completely ignorant of the fact that the entire world has been reduced to wasteland.
Enslaved Population
The humans living in Athens are oblivious that their city is controlled by an elite AI. They are kept unaware via extensive regulation of all media inside the walls, coupled with a state of complete surveillance: ATHENA is linked into every device in the city, and uses this spiderweb network of technologies to constantly monitor its citizens. To pacify the residents of Athens, the AI has written a fake history, designed to plausibly explain the nature of the world to the inhabitants of the city, and to discourage them from ever attempting escape. The humans themselves believe they are happy and live in a free world, unaware of the horrible truth that has befallen the rest of the globe. In order to maintain order, A.T.I officers closely police Athen's citizens on a day to day basis, keeping the people in line and ensuring they follow the life provided to them by ATHENA.
