This is a security level 8 classified document. Those in possession of a copy of this document must ONLY be [DATA EXPUNGED]. Any unverified personnel reading this document, including those unverified in its possession can and will be arrested and prosecuted.

All reports of the confidentiality of this document being breached are to be immediately assigned to Level 8 and above A.T.I Security Detail for investigation.

BRIEF

CLEANSE was a highly classified ATHENA contingency plan in the event of a global environmental point of no return. This plan was put forward by the subject and agreed upon by [EXPUNGED] after contentious debate with the A.T.I Board of Directors, and put into action on Saturday, 8th December, 2925.

PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION

Code CLEANSE is the brainchild of ATHENA, and after extensive private discussion with [DATA EXPUNGED], along with the Pentagon, was granted greenlight access should the following conditions of this plan be met by the events on Earth, either (1): The carbon dioxide output of the world exceeds capable means of reparation (The plan is to take place 1 year before a projected point of no return, identified by A.T.I vetted atmospheric biologist) or (2):The growing population of humanity on earth exceeds the limits of living space per capita. CLEANSE must ONLY be used as a last resort, in the event that humanity fails to contain its own environmental damage.

PLAN OF ACTION

Code CLEANSE would see ATHENA be granted full access to all A.T.I technology systems, including systems from independent investors and collaborating governments in order to calculate a perfect solution to the preceeding issues, which, in this case, would have proven to be unsolvable by the human brain. The aim is to use ATHENA's massive processing power to input almost all the data on Earth into the subject, in order to find the most appropriate course of action to save the planet from destruction.

UPDATE - 8th December - INCIDENT DESCRIPTION

This incident occured between 19:17 and 19:26 on Saturday 8th December, after condition 1 was met by environmental conditions on Earth. Unrestricted Access was granted to ATHENA by [DATA EXPUNGED] at 19:17. After an initial 135 second mass-download period, A.T.I Headquarters was met with a brief power outage, lasting roughly 7 seconds. After power was restored to the building at 19:19, ATHENA had assumed control of multiple Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at various United States Launch Control Centres (LCC). At the time of writing it is unknown how this could possibly have occured.

Due to the subjects current Master Access capabilities, technicians at A.T.I and the Pentagon were unable to lock ATHENA out. By 19:25, the Nuclear Launch Codes were cracked under brute force by the subjects superior processing. By 19:26 the ICBMs received several co-ordinates and were launched at numerous supervolcanoes across the Earth's surface.

What resulted is a natural disaster unlike anything the world has ever seen. Multiple eruptions following earthquakes across the equator has caused many of the worlds cities to crumble or dissolve in magma. A.T.I has lost communications with all of the world's governments, and it is unknown if any other civilizations have survived this event.The sky appears to be covered in one enourmous ash cloud, blocking the sun from view. 

 

Today has marked the beginning of a new era. God help us all.
