This a section of a Journal of 'Creetus' a remnant found in the city of Athena
19th November 3024
This is my first journal entry since my mother passed five years ago, my father says it's a way to keep me sane, but I'm not quite sure what he means. It's coming up to my 16th (solar) and to be honest, I'm not quite looking forward to it. I've been living in this bunker all my life, and every year it's always the same; stuck in this miserable place. Father says things will change but I doubt it. This bunker is made up of 25 levels stretching across at roughly 500m. It's alright for a living space but the people here are weird. Father and I stay away from most of them, you never know what's going on inside their heads. I heard last week on one of the lower levels, someone was killed and eaten again. It's getting worse by the day and soon the rations on our level will deplete as well. The surface is our only hope, we need to leave soon.
23rd November 3024
It's my Solar day! Yippe! Today was miserable, at least my father tried to make it a little enjoyable. Everyone else barely paid me any mind. I mean they never do but I thought today would be different. Father gave me his rations today which was as nice and also a little contraption he made from some scrap he found. I couldn't quite work out how it works but given some time ill figure it out. My friend Alfie came down and visited from level 10 for my solar. Alfie has been my best friend for as long as I can remember

11th January 3025
Father says tomorrow will be a big day. He came in rushing saying to pack my things and quickly. I packed what little things I had and put them in my carrier. I have a small suspicion we'll finally be heading to the surface! I can't wait! I've heard and read so much about the surface world, I wonder what it'll be like. I heard rumors that the dwellers on level 1 were sending scouts up to the surface. Maybe they found somewhere safe? Who knows! I went up to level 10 to see Alfie again and it turns out they're leaving tomorrow too! He told me that the next three levels were leaving starting at his level. That means we're gonna be together! I was worried we would get separated. Anyways I'm gonna try to get some rest as ill need my strength.
12th January 3025
I never knew the outside world would be almost as dark as underground. I read about it in old books about the world before, how it was full of life and people. Now it's an empty barren wasteland, and the temperature it's too cold. We've set up camp in what seems to be an airport from the old days. Father says that there's a safe haven city where we might be able to find a new life for ourselves. How could that be true though, nothing could have survived this cold. Two scouting parties have been sent ahead of us to the city. Once they come back with more information, we'll head off!

28th January 3025
We've been here about a week now, this city called Athens, but I hate it here. It's better than what we were living in before but... everyone here looks at me weirdly, and they look a lot different to us outsiders. Their skin looks more full of life, a lot less pale. When we got to the city immediately we had to split up. Our people were getting taken away by these droids. I don't know where they were taking them. Father took me and ran before they could get to us.
