The Ice Breaker Invasions

A series of attempts by the giants of the Northern Mountains to conquer all of Faerun that eventually led to the Elderlight Agreement and the exile of the giant race.

The Conflict

Prelude

The giant race lived isolated for many years in the far north. The Spine of the World kept all but the most intrepid southerner from visiting them and their gods' commands prevented most giants from venturing south. Non-giants who lived in the north would occasionally make their way over the mountains, but that was basically the only information the rest of the world had about what was happening in giant territory.
However, this was always a temporary situation. The giants' gods had big plans and were going to use their creations to accomplish it.
