Pronouns

Voidspeak does not have gendered pronouns. Instead, the Cult of the Void distinguishes between "animate" creatures, "inanimate" objects, and the creatures who live in the void, also called "Elders."   The Cult of the Void believes that they and every other aspect of the reality we know are simple figments of a much more powerful creature's imagination, so they don't believe anything is truly alive. Therefore, the only distinguishing factor between all the things in the planar system is whether it can move without anything appearing to act upon it. This leads to strange distinctions such as sunflowers and the wind being "animate" while a tree is considered "inanimate." If an animate creature dies, you then apply inanimate pronouns and articles to them.   Elders are given their own articles and pronouns because they are actually alive in the Cult's worldview and therefore are not relegated into the somewhat dehumanizing categories of "animate" or "inanimate."

Common Unisex Names
All names in Voidspeak are unisex since the Cult of the Void requires devotees to discard any ties to the conventions of the "ignorant" world. Nevertheless, members often chose names that had a specific meaning in Voidspeak that probably appealed to their vanity. Some examples of priest names and their meanings that appear in the records are:
  • Lusa (smart, quick-witted)
  • Chey (wise)
  • Dil (beauty)
  • Gihno (funny)
  • Jigus (forever)
  • Ley (everything)

Yeah, I see what you mean about it being overwhelming. This was my first try at creating a language and I think next time I'll definitely simplify more. Thanks for the feedback!
