Personal history

When he was younger, Alduin was abandoned in a human village and grew up in an orphanage. He got into all kinds of trouble and eventually was ended up in court found guilty of minor crimes and given the option to go to jail or serve out his sentence in a monastery. While he was in the monastery the monks showed him exceptional kindness and he became very attached to them. As he was out gathering herbs for his alchemy class some rogues came in an ransacked the monastery, burning it and his friends to the ground. When Aldrin returned he was able to deduce what happened and who did it. He tracked them for weeks, finding their hideout and in the middle of the night he gathered oil all around their encampment and burned them all alive the way they did his monk brothers. After this he set out on the life of an adventurer. With a new found taste for blood.

Alduin has a sworn enemy named Sinwald. Sinwald is also Dragonborn with the same distinctive colorings and markings as Alduin. Sinwald is a fighter and If you didn't know better, you'd swear they were brothers based on sight. They are not related, but from the same town called Blackreach
Once, Sinwald and Alduin were best of friends. They embarked on an epic journey together in search of fortune and fame. Sinwald was sure of the location of a treasure based on his extensive research, and told Alduin to go retrieve it while he dealt with other matters of importance. When Alduin arrived at the designated spot, he searched high and low but there was no treasure to be found. He traveled back to town and told Sinwald of his folly, however Sinwald didn't believe him and accused Alduin of stealing all the treasure for himself and hiding it away. He and Alduin argued relentlessly and eventually their argument turned physical when Alduin turned his back to Sinwald and he reached out and struck Alduin from behind with a large chest. He demanded to know where the fortune was. Alduin swore he had no idea, and asked him why he was acting this way. Sinwald screamed "Liar, theif! You stole was was rightfully mine!" and in a fit of rage Sinwald threw the chest on his head trying to kill him. He was unconscious for days and when he awoke Sinwald was gone, and had stripped Alduin bare of all belongings. Alduin lie on the ground naked, shivering, and cold and vowed that if he ever saw Sinwald again, he would destroy him and everything he loved.
