Fey Solstice Celebration

This event is held once a year as a way to Celebrate the Holiday and creation of the Earthly Court and coming together of other two Fey Courts from the Fey Realm.

History

Celebration leading up three days before Summer Solstice, day of solstice and three days after the solstice. To welcome the longest days of light with events evolving around nature.

Execution

The Midsummer Fire: Celebrated during the summer solstice, the Midsummer Fire is a time for fey creatures to honor the power of the sun. A huge bonfire is lit, and players dance and sing around it. Happens on the first night of festivities.   The Great Feast: A lavish feast featuring all sorts of fruits, vegetables, and other natural foods is held. Fey creatures are known for their love of food and drink, and this event is often the highlight of the celebration. Happens on the last night of festivities.

Components and tools

Games:   * Fairy Circle Dance: Fey creatures dance in a circle, weaving in and out of each other while holding hands. The goal is to maintain the circle without breaking the chain. If someone breaks the chain, they're out, and the last person standing wins.   * Pixie Treasure Hunt: Players search for hidden objects in a designated area, with clues provided by the pixies. The first player to find all the objects wins.   * Unicorn Race: Players ride unicorns through an obstacle course. The first to cross the finish line wins.   * Satyr's Challenge: Players race to gather as many acorns as possible in a designated area. The twist? The area is full of obstacles and distractions, and the satyrs are using their pipes to lead players astray.   * Flower Crown Making: Players create beautiful flower crowns using fresh flowers and natural materials. The crowns can be worn throughout the celebration, and the player with the most creative and beautiful crown wins a prize.   * Bonfire Jumping: Players take turns jumping over a bonfire, which symbolizes the purification and renewal of the season. The player who jumps the highest and most elegantly wins a prize. **Only held on the first day of celebration**   * Bardic- Bard Off: Players take turns creating songs, poetry or mockery of the target person and has to out due other competitors by: starting off with the last letter of the word used or person becomes tongue-tie and pauses to long for a counter to previous words. The most moving and inspiring performance wins a prize.   * The Wild Hunt: During this event, fey creatures gather together to hunt wild animals in the forest. The catch? The animals are actually enchanted creatures that have agreed to participate in the hunt, and the fey creatures must use their wits and cunning to catch them.

Participants

The King and Queen of Earthly Court and all citizens are welcome, along with visitors/travelers. Including the King and Queens of Seelie and Unseelie Courts.

Observance

Butterfly Release: Release butterflies that they have raised or purchased into the wild. The butterfly release symbolizes the coming of spring and the rebirth of the natural world. On the fourth day of festivities at mid-day.
