Markus Dean
The coterie was fortunate to run into Markus upon their escape from the restaurant once known as The Enchanted. Markus provided the coterie with a means of escape, guns, and perhaps most importantly, a crash course into their new life as Kindred. Markus's clan is currently unknown. He was last seen in the company of his driver, Delilah, attempting to lead the Second Inquisition off the coterie's tail. He did not appear at the Red Star the night after their arrival when he promised he would.
Markus reappeared nearly a month later, at the Open Council Meeting in January. He vouched for the majority of the coterie during their introduction, before joining the August Council in their closed session. He appears to have a close relationship with Chin-Hwa Ho, who greeted him warmly upon his return.
Shortly after visiting Sully, Markus called Blake, asking if they were available to talk. He apologized for not talking to them earlier, but asserted that he'd had to speak to the August Council first, but they deserved to know something about their sire. Blake stated they had time to talk now, and Markus agreed to pick them up with Marsh from a convenience store with Delilah.
Markus elaborated on his whereabouts after the coterie escaped, and told of an SI facility in the township of Watervliet, where he believes Blake's sire and other Kindred are being held. Markus then led the coterie to Djordji Odam to bargain with the Ravnos for his assistance.
In a conversation with his sire, Jay uncovered that Markus and Leopold were once coterie mates. Following the car ride up to Watervliet, Jay managed to learn that Markus and Jay were among the members of Carpe Noctem who had discovered the treachery of former Prince Hellene Panhard and Baron Callaghan. While the coterie led others to the Prince and Baron's secret meeting, Markus asserts that he and Leopold had no hand in staking the pair and leaving them for the sun.
While the group took care of business, Markus stayed as the getaway driver, seemingly unwilling to risk Delilah. Meeting the group as they burst from the basement of a house party, Markus drives them back to their hotel. As they discuss turning Marlena over to the Camarilla in Albany, Markus expresses his disappointment with the group, both in their willingness to trade away another Kindred's life and seemingly throwing away one of the reasons they came to Watervliet in the first place. Left to his own devices with the torpored Kindred, Markus disappeared with Marlena's body but left behind the other two Kindred.
Bookkeeper for the August Council, rescuer and mentor figure for the coterie.
