Baron/Baroness

A Baron or Baroness usually only holds title to a single freehold. They rule over a specific area which could be a smaller city or a portion of a larger city.  Baronial freeholds and generally closer to the commoner populace that other noble ranks, and fae with the rank of Baron or Baroness generally enjoy a stronger relationship with their vassals than higher nobles.  A barony may include up to three knights who have direct fealty to their baron or baroness, as well as a court specific to the freehold with fae sworn either to the freehold or to the freeholder directly.
The correct form of address for a baron or baroness is "Lord" or "Lady."
