Count Barrett Ceardoc
Count Barrett Ceardoc
Barrett Ceardoc chrysalized somewhat late in life. Born to a noble lineage that traces a staunch alliance to the Welsh-based Gwydion, he was snapped up as a youth for the best training house Dougal could offer. Trained as a craftsman and solider, he served in the Pacifican army as a master craftsman of weapons and armor before the internal corruption forced him out. He served as Master-at-arms in Duchess DiArte’s court before taking the position of head registrar of House Dougal.
Quiet and unobtrusive, Count Ceardoc has never sought fame or power. He prefers to see his duty done well. His passion as a craftsman is inventing simple but effective weapons and armor for skilled fighters. His passion as a noble is preservation of the idea that hard work and determination mean something and should be rewarded in kind.
Count Ceradoc’s Dougal flaw is that he is deaf. This is partially compensated for in his fae seeming through an ingenious hearing-aid style device. Mundanely he is legally deaf. He is fluent in ASL. Because of this he is very soft-spoken. He is extremely empathetic and perceptive. In both mundane and fae seemings he has a very pale countenance. Pale blone hair and pale blue eyes are set into porcelain skin. This color scheme makes him appear frail despite a masculine build and shape to his features. Appearances can be deceiving.
He has a fae brother who is a Gwydion named Gawain. Gawain Ceradoc was sained without title and serves as a knight in Queen Mary Elizabeth’s guard.
