Biography: Aerdon is the son of Estanna and Heldon Forester. Estanna is the sister of Erick Strongbow, the famous ranger lord of the Dreadwood Forest, and renown member of The Ten. Aerdon was raised beneath the northern canopies of the Dreadwood Forest and is fiercely loyal to his half-drow cousin, Arakhor, the son of Erick Strongbow and Dreché Darkblade.
Aerdon has long been enamored of Arakhor's father and studied the arts of the hunting and forest lore from this legendary tutor. Indeed, Aerdon looks and acts much more like Erick Strongbow than does his own son, who adopted more of his mother's exotic looks and attitudes.
Aerdon and Arakhor grew up together and there is a great kinship between them. They trust each other implicitly and either would readily die for the other. Both have been trained by the best and most powerful teachers imaginable, and their aptitude is uniquely advantaged. Together, they departed from the safety of their powerful lord's protection in the late spring of 605 CY, along with their other friends, the half-orc Greault and Amon Duskbringer. The four set out to investigate the possible whereabouts of the missing Geoffrey Aspensore IV. All of the boys had spent a fair amount of time with the young paladin in their carefree childhood years, so when he disappeared, they chose to seek word of his passage in the lands east of Oaken Heart. In the town of Daerwald, a chance encounter with a young girl calling herself "Cypher," along with her stoic protector Fozan Richdale, seemed to portent that the hands of fate were working to strengthen their adventuring band, the unusual coincidences being too large to ignore. For soon they learned that Cypher was none other than Marion Lightbringer, daughter of Caric Lightbringer, and that she herself had set out in search of Geoffrey against the wishes of her father, friends, and family.
Together the newly forged group found their way to the tiny hamlet of Zelkor's Ferry where the hunt for young Geoffrey grew cold. However, another chance meeting on the road to the hamlet brought an opportunity for Aerdon to purchase a dubious tract of land and a run down castle for a curiously low sum of money. The place was known as Castle Calaelen, and it stood under the control of a demon-worshipping goblin band, and some other nefarious creatures.
After clearing the small fortress from its unsavory occupants, the band found themselves embroiled in the needs of the folk dwelling in the eastern Dreadwood. The horrible and ancient dungeon of Rappan Athuk showed signs of recent activity after a long period of apparent dormancy. Strange priests have been seen walking the roads, banditry had increased to a startling degree, and horrible monsters have been appearing in greater numbers than ever before. Believing their guess as to the potential whereabouts of Geoffrey IV to have been quite wrong, and knowing that to retrace their steps and begin searching elsewhere would likely prove fruitless, the group decided to stay on in the eastern Dreadwood and see for themselves if they might be of some use to the local inhabitants of Zelkor's Ferry and beyond.
Rumor has it they have been having some success delving into the depths of Rappan Athuk, having begun their journey by descending through the feared Mouth of Doom, and later, into the dreaded, green-walled mausoleum at the base of the old Graveyard near the dungeon of Rappan Athuk itself.
