Biography: Arthan is the son of Alorra of Chendl and the nephew of her three famous brothers, Fhordon, Merrick, and Garruth. He was raised in Furyondy in the city of Chendl and served as a squire in the Knights of the Hart to his uncle Fhordon. Arthan might have remained in Chendl had he not come across a letter that Merrick had sent to his mother prior to his disappearance. He took the letter, and his uncles sword, and sought training from the Temple of Heironeous, where he was sworn in as a paladin.
He travelled to the village of Hommlet seeking answers to what had become of his uncle, when the forces of Elemental Evil rose again in 598 CY. Feeling as if the sons of Allinor must have failed, he swore to put this evil uprising down and put together a band of like-minded heroes to help him accomplish this goal.
